12.6.1130    RELEASE OF RAPTORS

(1) A falconry permittee shall obtain written authorization from the director before any species not indigenous to Montana is intentionally released to the wild, at which time the marker from the released bird shall be removed and surrendered to the department. The marker from an intentionally released bird which is indigenous to Montana shall also be removed and surrendered to the department. A standard federal bird band shall be attached to any such bird by the department or an authorized federal bird bander whenever practical.
