37.87.1214    PSYCHIATRIC RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT FACILITY SERVICES, SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT

(1) PRTF services may include substance use disorder assessment and treatment. Substance use disorder assessment and treatment must be completed in accordance with the American Society of Addictions Medicine PPC-2R Manual (Second Edition, revised April 2001) for youth with a primary SED diagnosis who have a co-occurring substance use disorder diagnosis.

(2) Assessment and treatment must be provided by a licensed addiction counselor if the youth has a co-occurring diagnosis of substance dependency or abuse.

(3) Substance use disorder treatment includes the following services based on the individual plan of care developed with the youth:

(a) assessment;

(b) individual therapy;

(c) group therapy; and

(d) family therapy.

(4) For youth with a co-occurring diagnosis of substance abuse or dependency outpatient services must be included in the discharge plan as needed.
