24.11.440    DEFINITIONS

The following definitions apply to this subchapter, unless context clearly indicates otherwise:

(1) "Base period" means that period defined in 39-51-201 , MCA, and means the first four of the last five completed calendar quarters immediately preceding the first day of a claimant's benefit year.

(2) "Benefit year" is defined in 39-51-201 , MCA, lasts 52 weeks, and begins the first day of the calendar week in which a valid claim is filed.

(3) "Valid claim" means a claim filed by a claimant who:

(a) has earned the qualifying amount of wages as required by 39-51-2105 , MCA;

(b) is eligible to receive benefits under 39-51-2104 , MCA; and

(c) has not been disqualified under 39-51-2301 , MCA, et seq. and the applicable administrative rules.
