24.159.2001    INTRODUCTION OF THE NURSES' ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

(1) The nurses' assistance program (NAP) is a specially designed program to assist Montana nurses whose competency may be impaired due to the abuse of drugs or alcohol. The NAP will have two tracks:

(a) the disciplinary track; and

(b) the nondisciplinary track.

(2) The NAP will monitor the nurses' rehabilitation process to ensure public safety. Information that relates to the abuse of addictive drugs, alcohol, or any other drug or substance, may be reported by the licensee to the NAP in lieu of reporting to the board.
