37.34.1401    AVERSIVE PROCEDURES, PURPOSE

(1) These rules are adopted to provide a system for the review, approval and implementation of ethical, safe, humane and efficient training procedures for persons with developmental disabilities in programs funded through the developmental disabilities program of the department of public health and human services. It is not the purpose of these rules to advocate the use of aversive procedures. Rather the purpose is to acknowledge that such procedures may be necessary when other less restrictive procedures have failed to significantly modify a person's behavior.
