17.30.617    OUTSTANDING RESOURCE WATERS -- DESIGNATION

(1) All state surface waters located wholly within the boundaries of designated national parks or wilderness areas as of October 1, 1995, are outstanding resource waters (ORWs) . Other state waters may be designated an ORW by the department following the procedures in 75-5-316, MCA, subject to approval by the legislature.
