24.16.4007 WAGE COMPLAINTS AND INVESTIGATIONS (1) The department will review complaints, claims, or other information received to enforce Montana's wage laws. (2) The department may conduct investigations without filed complaints, including spot-check inspections of payroll and personnel records, and interviews to ensure compliance with wage laws. (3) The department will review prevailing wage complaints to determine if the work is subject to federal prevailing wage laws, and if so, will advise the complainant to contact the U.S. Department of Labor.
