37.114.507    BOTULISM: INFANT BOTULISM

(1) Feces must be concurrently disinfected or flushed down a toilet attached to a municipal or other sewage system approved by the department.

(2) The local health officer shall make an immediate investigation of every case or suspected case of botulism in an effort to establish the diagnosis and determine the source.

(3) In the event that a commercial food product is suspected as the source, special instructions will be given by the department. The local health officer shall prevent distribution and consumption of the suspected food.
