37.78.1001    FAIM FOOD STAMP PROGRAM: PURPOSE

(1) The rules in this chapter govern food stamp eligibility, benefit amount and other requirements for families in the Families Achieving Independence in Montana (FAIM) program.

(2) The FAIM Food Stamp program shall be governed by the regulations of the Food and Consumer Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture contained in the following parts, except as the rules in this chapter make specific provisions which are contrary to the federal food stamp regulations, in which case these rules shall take precedence over the federal regulations: 7 CFR, parts 271 through 275, pertaining to the purpose, definitions, administration, eligibility and certification and issuance and use of coupons in the food stamp program. The department hereby adopts and incorporates by reference 7 CFR 271 through 275, as amended through January 1, 1995. A copy of 7 CFR 271 through 275 as amended through January 1, 1995 may be obtained from the Department of Public Health and Human Services, Office of Legal Affairs, 111 N. Sanders, P.O. Box 4210, Helena, MT 59604-4210.
