12.6.1405    TAKING RAPTORS OR RAPTOR EGGS FROM THE WILD

(1) Any permit authorizing the permittee to take raptors or raptor eggs from the wild for breeding purposes is subject to the restriction that no raptor described under 50 CFR ' 17.11 as "endangered" or "threatened", or the eggs of such raptor, may be taken from the wild without first obtaining the proper permit from federal authorities.

(2) No more than four raptors taken from the wild may be possessed at any one time.

(3) Only nestlings may be taken from the wild for breeding purposes.
