23.14.411    PURPOSE OF CERTIFICATES AND AWARDS

(1) Certificates and awards may be presented by the POST advisory council for the purpose of raising the level of competence of law enforcement and to foster cooperation among the council, agencies, groups, organizations, jurisdictions, and individuals.

(2) Certificates and awards remain the property of the board of crime control and the board shall have the power to cancel or recall any certificate or award upon due cause determined by the board.

(3) Basic, intermediate, advanced, supervisory, command, administrative and other certificates are established for the purpose of fostering professionalization, education, and experience necessary to perform adequately the duties of the law enforcement service.
