24.159.1465    SPECIAL LIMITATIONS RELATED TO THE PRESCRIBING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES

(1) An APRN shall not prescribe controlled substances for self or for members of the APRN's immediate family.

(2) An APRN shall not provide controlled substances or prescription drugs for other than therapeutic purposes.

(3) A prescription for Schedule II drugs shall not exceed the quantity allowable by federal Drug Enforcement Administration regulations. Prescriptions for Schedule III-V drugs will not exceed the quantity necessary for a three-month period.
